Lissa has given keynotes that highlight her story of going from a writer hoping to get published to becoming an award-winning, international best-selling author, published in over thirty countries.
The talks are primarily about writing, but the lessons learned are applicable to anyone with a dream.
Above, Lissa giving a keynote to the Children’s Literature Council on diversity.
These talks can be with or without a PowerPoint presentation.
Lissa also teaches workshops on writing.
She asks questions that each student answers for themselves about their manuscripts. Sharing is always optional. The students’ answers lead them immediately to a deeper connection to their characters and their story. We have many “aha” moments in these classes.
This was a lecture on rewriting — how to work on a macro level and a micro level. How unpacking can make the difference between a passable scene to a dynamic, memorable one.
This was the Discover Your Story Workshop. I always love it when that moment comes when a student just blurts out, “My mind is blown!”
Whether it is a workshop for writers, or a motivational talk for the general public, Lissa loves sparking the imagination of her audience and inspiring them to achieve their dreams.
