Gotta Love Bookstores

So there are signed copies of STARTERS at three places in SoCal. The first one is for a good cause and the books will only be there until Wed, 9/26 – that is B&N Americana on Brand in Glendale. They will probably be on a special table. Sales benefit school libraries, which are really suffering right now.

After Wed, I have signed books at two great indie stores: Once Upon A Time Bookshop in Montrose, north Glendale (see link to the right) and more north and a little east, up in lovely La Canada, Flintridge Bookstore and Coffee House on Foothill. The first one is a childrens’ bookstore and is near a lot of cafes and yogurt shops and the second one carries adult as well as children’s books, has a lot of gifts and has a nice cafe right inside the store. Both of these are great independent stores, so pick whichever is closer to you. I know that Once will ship and you can certainly ask Flintridge if they will.

ADDED: I almost forgot the wonderful Mrs. Nelson’s Toy & Book Shop in La Verne, CA. I attended a book brunch event where I signed stock there too.

Support bricks and mortar bookstores – there is nothing like browsing and touching, flipping through pages, looking at the back cover, the jacket flap and discovering new books. And they are welcoming places to hang.

I will be at the Orange County Children’s Book Festival next Sunday, 9/30 on a YA panel at 11 and then signing at 11:50 a.m. Check out my events page for details.
